ABA Therapy

One-on-one, evidence-based behavior therapy tailored to your child's individual goals, delivered in-center.

For children aged 2 to 15 Marathahalli, Bangalore

ABA Therapy is…

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a well-researched, evidence-based approach that helps children build communication, social, play, and everyday life skills. It works by breaking bigger goals into small, manageable steps, teaching them through positive reinforcement, and practicing them in ways that make sense for your child, not through a fixed, one-size-fits-all program.

At Ahamya, ABA Therapy is delivered one-on-one, in-center, by a trained therapist working under the guidance of a Qualified Behavior Analyst (QBA). Every plan starts with getting to know your child, so the goals we set actually reflect what matters to your family.

Who it's for

  • Children who could benefit from structured support building communication, social, or daily-living skills
  • Families looking for an approach that’s evidence-based, but still shaped around their child rather than a generic curriculum
  • Children just starting therapy, and those continuing care from another provider
  • Children at different stages, from those just beginning to communicate, to those refining more complex social or academic skills

What this looks like at Ahamya

  • Regular progress reviews, so you always know what's working and what's being adjusted
  • Open conversations with your QBA about goals, questions, or concerns
  • Guidance you can use at home, so skills carry over beyond the therapy room

What actually happens in a session?

Sessions look like structured play and learning, not a classroom drill. A therapist might work with your child on things like following simple instructions, using words or an AAC device to ask for what they want, taking turns in a game, or getting dressed independently, depending on your child’s goals. Skills are taught in small steps, practiced often, and celebrated with lots of positive reinforcement along the way.

How goals are set

Before therapy starts, our team conducts an assessment to understand your child’s current skills and challenges. From there, we build an individualized plan with your input. You’ll always know why a goal was chosen and what progress toward it looks like.

What to expect early on

The first few weeks are mostly about your child building trust and comfort with their therapist and the center. You may not see big, dramatic changes right away. Early progress often shows up in small ways, like your child engaging more, tolerating new routines, or attempting a skill for the first time. Your QBA will walk you through what’s happening at every step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ABA only for children with autism?

ABA is most commonly used with autistic children, but the same teaching principles can help any child who needs extra support building communication, social, or behavioral skills.

How long does ABA therapy usually take?

This varies by child. Some children work on specific goals over several months; others benefit from longer-term, more intensive support. Your QBA will discuss realistic timelines based on your child’s individual plan and review progress regularly so the plan stays right-sized.

Will my child need ABA forever?

No. The goal of ABA is to build skills your child can use independently, so they need less support over time. As goals are met, sessions and intensity are adjusted, and therapy ends when your child has the skills the plan set out to build.

Is ABA the same as school or daycare?

No. ABA sessions are one-on-one and built around your child’s specific goals, not a group curriculum. That said, many of the skills we teach are aimed at helping your child do better in school, at home, and in everyday social situations.

What’s expected of me as a parent?

Your involvement matters. You’ll be part of goal-setting from the start, and we’ll check in regularly on progress. Many families also use simple strategies at home that reinforce what your child is learning in-center.

How do I know if ABA is right for my child?

The best first step is an initial assessment, where our team gets to know your child and talks through your concerns and goals. From there, we can tell you honestly whether ABA, and our program specifically, is a good fit.
